In 2021, Biennale Némo is pairing the opening of its main exhibition with an evening event featuring a stunning cast of characters, from a ballet of machines at the pinnacle of audiovisual performance to artists such as Ryoichi Kurokawa and Max Cooper.

The evening event will open with a strange ballet of light sculptures that warps space-time in MA, an electronic show by visual artist and performer Maxime Houot, a member of Collectif Coin.

Next will come Falaises, the spectacular audiovisual concert by Alexis Langevin-Tétrault, Guillaume Côté and Dave Gagnon.

Then Biennale Némo veteran Ryoichi Kurokawa will present subassemblies, an audiovisual performance in which the artist turns his focus to nature, which is depicted as an entirely electronic, magical reality.

Max Cooper will cap off the evening with his awe-inspiring live performance, Yearning for the Infinite (commissioned by the Barbican Centre), an immersive show that delves into the human need for knowledge and improvement, as well as material, financial and personal gain. Yearning for the infinite as an endless font of meaning. This spectacular depiction of our desire for the inaccessible also happens to be very danceable!
