Sur-prise du visible at Le Lavoir Numérique and an evening of performances at Le Générateur
Attempt to identify faces in the clouds, fabulate on human life in a world where automation has been fantasised to the extreme; question the desires at the heart of video surveillance and the power dynamic between the surveilled and the surveillers; examine the impact of video surveillance systems on non-human lives and perceptions; study the tactics of anonymization, non-traceability, invisibility and encryption used to fight political and technological dictatorships; become a chameleon by delving into the contradictions between wearing a mask and facial recognition; pluck the columbine leaves while counting the days of high school; burst out laughing in front of robbery surveillance footage plastered with advertising slogans; embark on a musical and poetic meander on surveiling the mass surveillance of everyone caught in the ‘panoptechcon’.
After the exhibition opening, the next stop will be Le Générateur, where two performances await. First will be Amesys vs. Habiter le bruit by Somaticae and Laurent Carlier himself. Then our attention will turn to electromagnetism, mesmerism, the body electric, and dance with MAGNA by Anabelle Playe (creation and live electronic performance), Marcela Santander Corvalan (choreography and dance), Alexandra Radulescu (live visuals) and Nadia Ratsimandresy (ondes Martenot).
Curated by Laurent Carlier.
Exhibition organised and co-produced with Les Réseaux de la Création.
