Yvain Juillard offers a lecture performance on our strange ally the brain, which we actually know so little about, despite it being the nexus of memory, consciousness and feelings. This exuberant solo performance is peppered with experiments conducted together with the entire audience, demonstrating how our brain can take advantage of us.
Cerebrum […] pairs cheerful scientific teachings with the actor’s personal journey in this neuronal quest. With his theatrical talent added into the mix, the result is a spectacular and captivating lecture, performed in playful interaction with the audience.
Isabelle Dumont, Alternatives Théâtrales
Proving that it’s possible to be both a performer and a biophysicist specialised in brain plasticity, Juillard employs his dual talents to deliver a lecture performance on our brain. New discoveries about the brain are made every day in neuroscience, and you we still know so little. Cerebrum is a performance for all ages that puts us up close and personal with this “maker of realities”.
Our brain doesn’t understand everything, and sometimes even takes advantage of us. Through experiments conducted with the entire audience, we will go from one surprise to the next, realising that we harbour many cognitive biases that sometimes make us see the world much differently than it truly is.
